In this tutorial let us learn how to install Blender on Linux Mint 19.2
About Blender 2.80
Blender is an open-source application focused on creatives with 3D graphics and animation needs. However, with Grease Pencil feature Blender is also capable of creating 2D graphics and animation. Blender is also capable of 3D sculpting and video-editing. We use it for editing our videos.

Installing Blender 2.80

Go to the Blender Foundation’s download page.

Click on the button named ‘Windows, MacOS and other versions’ and then click on ‘Linux - Snap Store’. The link will take you to the Blender Foundation’s official snapcraft page.

Click on the ‘Install’ button and copy the command from there.

Install ‘snapd’ using the following command:
$ sudo apt install snapd

Next, paste the command that we copied from Blender Foundation’s official snapcraft page or use the following command:
$ sudo snap install blender --classic

Reboot your computer.

Blender 2.80 will now be installed and ready to use on Linux Mint.
Note: These steps will also be applicable for any other Linux distribution which support ‘snapd’.
